Usually, if it smells like mould, it is mould. Mould or mildew odours are due to the presence of fungi in the air, inside pipes or walls, or hidden in other parts of your commercial property. Mould is thicker than mildew, so if the smell is particularly strong, that’s a clue that it’s mould and you need to act fast to prevent further growth.
Depending on the source, nature and extent of the fire, it may be advisable to move all your belongings to a secure facility for cleaning and storage, and to make room for restoration or construction. It is strongly suggested that foot traffic is kept to a minimum during the drying process. When necessary, wearing shoes during the drying process is also recommended for safety concerns.
